Prof. (Dr.) Jyotirmaya Mahapatra is a distinguished academician and management expert with more than four decades of experience in industry, teaching, research, and academic administration. He currently serves as Professor Emeritus of Strategic Management at ASBM University, Bhubaneswar and previously held the position of Vice-Chancellor of AIPH University.
Dr. Mahapatra completed his M.S. in Business Administration from Fort Hays State University, Kansas (USA) and earned his Ph.D. in Management from Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra. He began his professional career with Coal India Limited, where he served for 17 years in various managerial roles, including heading the HRD department.
He later transitioned to academia and joined Sambalpur University as the founding Professor and Head of the Department of Business Administration, where he served for 16 years and also held several key administrative positions such as Chairman of the P.G. Council (Pro-Vice Chancellor). During his career, he has served as Dean and academic leader in several institutions and has guided numerous doctoral scholars.
Dr. Mahapatra has authored multiple books and published around 70 research papers in national and international journals, and he has conducted management development programs and consultancy for several leading organizations. He has also served on expert panels of national bodies such as AICTE, UGC, and UPSC.
